FORM AP-113D: History known of individual.
A long, cylindrical brass instrument with a slide. Known for a sharp tone and lower register.
First discovery documented around the 15th century. Used primarily in small ensembles and outdoor events. Formerly known as a sackbut before the 18th century.
Gained popularity in Classical and Romantic periods alongside the Ophicleide. Has enjoyed a rise in popularity and is a notable member in most large classical ensembles and jazz bands today.
Became close with the Ophicleide in the 18th and 19th centuries. They are relatively the same age as Horn. Actual age unknown.
